At The Bloom Room, I offer individual psychotherapeutic counselling in Milton Keynes and online across the UK. My approach is integrative and attachment-informed, which means I don't work from one fixed model or expect you to fit into a particular way of doing therapy. Instead, I draw from different therapeutic approaches depending on you, your experiences and what emerges through our work together.
At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship. I believe that feeling safe enough to be curious about yourself, without judgement or pressure, creates the conditions for meaningful therapeutic work.
My practice is particularly informed by Attachment Theory, helping us explore how earlier relationships and experiences may have shaped the ways you learned to understand yourself, other people and the world around you. These early patterns, sometimes described as our Inner Working Models, can continue to influence relationships, emotional responses, self-worth and our sense of safety long after the circumstances in which they developed have changed.
Alongside this attachment lens, I integrate Person-Centred Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Transactional Analysis (TA) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). This allows us to work with different parts of your experience: what you are feeling now, patterns you may notice in relationships, thoughts and beliefs you have developed about yourself, experiences from your past, and the ways your nervous system has learned to respond and protect you.
Sometimes our work may involve making connections between past and present. At other times, it might mean slowing something down, understanding an emotional response, noticing what happens within your body, challenging a long-held belief, or simply having somewhere safe enough to say something that has been difficult to say elsewhere.
I also bring psychoeducation into therapy where it is helpful. Understanding attachment, trauma responses, emotional regulation or the nervous system can sometimes provide a framework for experiences that previously felt confusing or difficult to explain. The aim isn't to analyse everything you do, but to help you develop a deeper and more compassionate understanding of yourself.
In-person sessions take place at Bloom Room MK in Milton Keynes, a private therapeutic space designed to feel calm, comfortable and welcoming.
I also offer online counselling across the UK via Microsoft Teams, providing the same consistent therapeutic relationship for those who prefer or need the flexibility of working remotely.

People come to individual therapy for many different reasons. You might be experiencing anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, grief or loss, trauma, difficulties with self-esteem or identity, or navigating a significant period of change in your life. You may also have reached a point where you recognise patterns that keep repeating but aren't yet sure why.
I have a particular interest in working with attachment, developmental and relational trauma, neurodivergence, emotional regulation, identity and the impact of earlier experiences on life in the present.
You don't need to arrive knowing exactly what is wrong, what you want to change, or even where to begin. Therapy can provide the space to gradually understand what has shaped you, what you may still be carrying, and what you need now.
My role isn't to tell you who you should become. It is to work alongside you as we make sense of your experiences, recognise the patterns that may once have protected you, and create space for different ways of relating to yourself, other people and the life you want to live.
