This section contains a collection of neurodiversity reflections, articles, and psychoeducational pieces exploring crucial themes such as attachment and neurodiversity, nervous system regulation, relationships, education, masking, parenting, and emotional wellbeing.
Some pieces are crafted from a therapeutic perspective, while others draw from lived experiences, advocacy efforts, professional insights, and observations from working in relational and trauma-informed environments.
Many neurodivergent individuals spend years trying to understand themselves through various labels, including anxious, difficult, sensitive, lazy, dramatic, too emotional, disorganized, and "too much."
However, this journey often overlooks the impact of misunderstanding, masking, sensory overwhelm, attachment experiences, and chronic nervous system stress throughout their lives.
The articles in this space seek to transcend simplistic narratives and delve into neurodiversity with curiosity, compassion, nuance, and honesty.
Topics may cover areas such as masking and burnout, school-based trauma, the invisible labor of parenting neurodivergent children, attachment and neurodiversity, nervous system regulation, people pleasing and survival responses, AuDHD experiences, relationships and communication, sensory overwhelm, emotional safety, advocacy and systemic misunderstanding, and late identification and self-understanding.
Some pieces may resonate profoundly with your experiences, while others might simply provide the language for emotions that have previously been difficult to articulate.
You do not need to relate to everything shared here for your experiences to be considered valid.
