NeurodiversitY Resources & Helpful links

Support, psychoeducation, and further exploration

This section contains a growing collection of resources, tools, creators, organisations, and psychoeducational materials that may support greater understanding of neurodiversity, nervous system regulation, attachment, sensory needs, emotional wellbeing, and relational safety.

Not every resource will resonate with every person. Neurodiversity is broad, individual, and deeply influenced by life experience, environment, relationships, and nervous system development.

The aim of this space is not to tell people who they are, but to offer information, language, validation, and supportive tools that may help people better understand themselves and their experiences.

Helpful Voices & Educational Resources

NeuroteachersUK

Insights around neurodivergence within educational systems, including masking, school-based anxiety, emotional regulation, sensory overwhelm, and understanding behaviour through a nervous system-informed lens.

Nervous System & Regulation Resources

Topics that many people find helpful to explore include:

  • Window of Tolerance
  • sensory regulation
  • grounding techniques
  • nervous system education
  • burnout recovery
  • emotional regulation
  • attachment theory
  • masking and autistic burnout
  • ADHD and executive functioning
  • body awareness and somatic responses

Future downloadable resources within this hub may include:

  • grounding sheets
  • sensory check-ins
  • regulation planners
  • nervous system visuals
  • parent support guides
  • communication tools
  • body awareness exercises
  • printable psychoeducation resources

Assessment & Diagnostic Information

Some individuals choose to pursue formal assessment or diagnosis, whilst others simply seek greater understanding of themselves and their needs.

If you are considering assessment, it may be helpful to explore:

  • NHS pathways
  • Right to Choose services
  • private assessment providers
  • local support groups
  • workplace or educational adjustments

Diagnosis is a personal decision and not a requirement for self-understanding, support, or compassionate exploration.

Support for Parents & Families

Parents and carers may also find it helpful to explore resources around:

  • school advocacy
  • sensory overwhelm
  • emotional regulation within the home
  • sibling dynamics
  • burnout and caregiver fatigue
  • attachment and co-regulation
  • communication strategies
  • reducing shame within family systems

Supporting a neurodivergent child often requires supporting the nervous system of the entire family.

Therapy & Emotional Support

Therapy can provide a space to explore:

  • overwhelm and burnout
  • identity and self-understanding
  • masking
  • emotional regulation
  • attachment experiences
  • relationship patterns
  • anxiety and hypervigilance
  • nervous system safety
  • boundaries and self-worth

At The Bloom Room, neurodiversity is approached through a compassionate, relational, attachment-aware, and nervous-system informed lens.

A Gentle Reminder

You do not need to prove your struggle in order for it to matter.

Many neurodivergent people have spent years minimising their experiences because they learned to survive, adapt, mask, or keep functioning despite significant internal overwhelm.

Sometimes understanding begins with allowing yourself to consider:

“Maybe my nervous system has been working harder than anyone realised.”
